Business management is about ‘knowing’ how the business is tracking.

Frequently this is presented historically a few weeks after closing a financial period. Generally, ‘too late’ to fix potentially major issues.

A key goal of ‘Managing by Project’ is knowledge management. Getting access to real-time data, key performance indicators, and dashboards that focus attention where it is needed.

The most common issue is ‘where is the data?’ and the answer is ‘in disparate systems.’ Which is part of the problem.

Managing data holistically with a consistent approach on a daily basis ensures that the tools management require are always current, real-time, and problems highlighted before they become ‘train-wrecks’.
